Trust the Truth

HELLO FROM UP ABOVE - my 2nd children's picture book - has a timely message for all of us. Adults and children alike. It's marketed to the 2-to-8-year-old, but we all never outgrow our longing to know certain important truths. Our God is near. He created us unique. We are special to Him. We yearn to discern how much He loves us.

Maybe we knew these important truths when we were younger. Maybe we took them to heart when our heart was more open and less crushed. When we hadn't yet traveled all the bumps in our road.

A hectic life can cloud our view of seeing His gifts each day. Those gifts we more often take for granted. Those gifts we often overlook. We diminish the gifts we currently have wanting more...wanting different.

Maybe we were more prone to praise in preschool!

The complexity of our big God can be difficult for the youngest child to comprehend. Yet their child-like-faith spurs them on. It's puzzling for us big folks as well. Possibly taking on the eyes of a child perusing this picture book could enlighten the most seasoned of vision.

As our lives get busier and busier with each passing year, do we more and more dismiss God's presence in this crazy life? He deserves our attention. He deserves our taking the time even on our busiest of days.

Any child-like-faith that began in us must be fertilized to grow through the years. When younger, we innocently accept what is truth without needing the subsequent explanation. Sometimes as we grow in knowledge and experience, we grow in a questioning spirit. We can become callous and cautious to accept what we did previously regard as true.

As depicted in HELLO FROM UP ABOVE...

"Whenever you debate if I am really real, you have to trust the truth more than the way you feel."

This is God talking to a child. This is God talking to us.

"I'm like the wind that blows and glides across your face. Although I can't be seen. You feel my warm embrace."

None of us ever question if the wind is real. We've never seen it but know it exists due to its evidence all around us. Same with God. He's real. We just don't give Him the same benefit of the doubt.

I hope that as we read this picture book to our favorite little ones, we can be reminded that we also are among God's favorites. We too are never alone. We too can never go too far to get out of God's loving sight and protective care. We haven't outgrown His love or the need for these sweet reminders.

If your heart has built-up walls that force faith out, may this Easter season be a catalyst for you to trust the truth no matter how you feel. This is truth. God is wanting and waiting to have a relationship with you! He sends blessings to you each and every day. He wants you to recognize Him in each and every one.

It might feel risky to accept faith in an unseen God. It's way riskier to not! There is more at stake in keeping your heart door closed. Unlock it and let Him in. He will be the best gift you have ever received! It can usher in the most meaningful Easter you have ever lived.

If you don't mind my asking...Please consider buying a copy of this picture book. Read it to the one special child you have in mind...but keep your mind open because your God may have you in mind to receive its comforting message as well.

Its message is Easter-related but not Easter-specific so it can provide a gentle reminder to all of us all year long.

Happy Resurrection Day! He lives!!

God is great.

We've been told.

He loves the young.

He loves the old.
