New Year New You

🎉 CONGRATULATIONS!

You made it! You weren't sure you'd survive until 2023, but look at you now! 👊 Give yourself a fist bump or a pat on the back. Go ahead. You deserve it. I'll wait.

It has been no small feat to get to this point.  We've survived much. We raised many. Now...by golly....it's our turn.  It's our time to shine even if we're a bit past our prime.

You do know that middle-age is now occurring later and later. I proclaim it's just a hop skip and a jump past where we are right now. Do I get an Amen? So...what does that mean? It means we still have time before we're all grown up!

What did you dream to be as you were a young child?  Where did you see YOU in YOUR perfect world?

What would it take for you to feel the most fabulous and accomplished YOU? What steps can I encourage you to take to get there?

Here's a first step of encouragement.........

Repeat after me...out loud:

"I'm never too old."

"It's never too late."

"No time like the present."

"No better day than today."

"My time is now."

"The best is yet to be....for me!"

I know. That time clock is ticking. You might feel a bit tattered and torn and a little worn out. We're not as young as we used to be.....but do consider:

Ray Kroc was 52 when he bought his first McDonalds.

Julia Child published her first cookbook at 50 and made her TV debut at the age of 51.

Duncan Hines wrote his first food and hotel guide at the age of 55. He was 73 when his name was licensed to use on boxed cake mixes.

Rodney Dangerfield got his break on the Ed Sullivan Show at the age of 46.

Harland Sanders was just Harland when he found himself broke at 65, but the Colonel sold KFC to investors for 2 million dollars when he was 73.

Tom Allen is Britain's oldest yoga instructor.  He began in his mid 50's and still teaches today at 90.

Man Kaur was 103 when she competed in India's 2019 World Masters Athletic Championship in javelin, shot put, 60 meter dash and 200 meter run.

So....What's your excuse?  What's mine?

I have had a life-long dream to be a published author.  I have seen glimpses of this calling for some time. So why would I now pursue this dream so late in life?  Who knows. I can't waste time second guessing myself or my timing but had better get cracking.  That time train is going quickly clickety-clack down the track.  No putting off until tomorrow.  I best go for it today.

God reignited this dream in my heart a little over a year ago. He gave me 4 complete children's rhyming picture books during a quick and eventful 30 minute prayer walk with Him.  Shouldn't that mean God would just as quickly bring me to publication soon after?  Human minds would think so but divine God knows there is beauty and growth in the process.  Joy can even be found in the journey if I'm not overly concentrating on the end goal.  This process to publication is way more difficult than I thought and way more involved than I imagined.  What that means is that it will be way more fulfilling when the dream finally comes true.  Believe me, you'll be among the first to know. You have an open invitation to my book launch celebration!

What is your dream?  Please please do not let any excuse of age or limitation get in your way.  Did that stop Helen Keller or Joni Eareckson Tada? If God engraved a dream in your heart, then He is responsible to bring it to pass. Remember it's His job to equip who He calls. Be a dream chaser. You'll never know unless you try. Aim high. You might even fly!

When we get to this same point at the end of 2023, I want to hear your triumphant stories spotlighting steps of faith that moved you one step closer to your dream. Doesn't that sound better than a year of wandering aimlessly with no goal in sight? I want to be invited to your celebration party as well.  I'll crash it if need be. 😁

Seize the day as they say with a a Hip Hip Hooray!

Repeat after me..out loud:

"Watch Out World!"

"Here I come!"

Psalms 31:15 - "My times are in Your hands."

Set your mind.

You will see.

This year can

set you free

to be all

you're to be!
